We’ve all been home for a few weeks now and for many of us, our creative juices are a bit drained. But the good news is- it’s getting warmer and we can soon start spending time outside! So we’ve created a list of 15 fun things to do outside!
- Play in the water :: Enjoy a pool (big or kiddie pool), play in the sprinklers or enjoy this splash pad!
- Go on a scavenger hunt :: Give your kids a page with the alphabet on it. Have them go outside and find one item for each letter. See examples here! (Acorn, Bumblebee, Caterpillar, etc)
- Have a picnic
- Plant a garden
- Play with sidewalk chalk
- Go for a walk
- Play put put :: How fun is this at home set?
- Fly a kite
- Hula hoop
- Paint outside
- Play ball
- Create a neighborhood scavenger hunt :: Contact a bunch of your neighbors and encourage them to choose an animal to print and hang in their windows. Once they’ve selected their animal, ask them to share the animal with you. Once all the neighbors have responded, create a list and create a neighborhood scavenger hunt! This way the kids can all run from house to house searching for the animals in the windows. The kids won’t need to touch anything but their own scavenger hunt paper and it gives them something fun to do! And it keeps them connected to their neighborhood friends.
- Go fishing :: Go fishing for real or set up a wading pool with objects for your little one to catch!
- Make a bird feeder
- Bowl outside :: How fun are some of these bowling sets?
