Nestled along the banks of the Missouri River and west of St. Louis is Hermann, MO. This small, scenic town is home to Stone Hill Winery, an establishment rich in both history and success. For over 150 years, Stone Hill has been providing delicious, award-winning wine to Missouri and beyond. The winery also features a restaurant, tours, and wedding packages. Take a trip to Stone Hill Winery, and enjoy the fruit of Missouri’s oldest vineyards.

Stone Hill Winery

The winery’s history goes back to the 19th century when Stone Hill grew to be one of the most well-known and successful wineries in America. According to the winery’s website, Stone Hill brought home gold medals for their wine at world fairs in the 1870s and was shipping 1.25 million gallons of wine annually in that period. However, the Prohibition brought production to a halt until the vineyards were purchased by the Held family in 1965. Since then, the property has been restored and Stone Hill Winery has once again risen to prominence. As stated on Stone Hill’s website, the winery is not only the state’s oldest but the winningest, recipient of over 4,000 awards.

Wines

Stone Hill Winery owns five different beautiful vineyards, covering a total of nearly 200 acres. Stone Hill’s line of award-winning wines is highlighted by their Norton wines, made using the state grape of the same name. Moscato, Port, Chardonel, and several other delicious varieties are produced, but their Norton wines are Stone Hill’s showstoppers. That’s reason enough alone to make the trip!

Restaurant

The wine at Stone Hill is the main attraction – and rightly so – but Vintage Restaurant is worth your time (and tastebuds). It’s only right that award-winning wine is served with award-winning food, and that’s exactly what you’ll find on the menu at the Vintage Restaurant at Stone Hill. Enjoy their selection of mouthwatering German dishes!

Weddings and Events

Searching for a wedding venue guaranteed to take your breath away? Stone Hill is the place you’ve been looking for. Several different locations on the property are available, depending the size of your wedding. Visit their website for full wedding package details.

In addition to weddings, Stone Hill features an impressive lineup of Signature Events, including live music, food, and more. Events like Music on the Hill, Wine Country Shrimp Boil, Stone Hill Winery Oktoberfest, and more are just a few reasons why you’ll want to visit.

Visiting

Stone Hill Winery tours are offered every day, free of charge. However, if you want an exciting behind the scenes look at how the winery is run, take the Grapes to Glass Winery Tour & Tasting!  Group tours are available as well. For only $5, you can enjoy a tasting of their wine. Visit the Tours & Tasting web page for details.

More information, including an online store, event calendar, FAQs, can be found on Stone Hill’s website. You can also call them (573) 486-2221.

Stone Hill Winery is located at 1110 Stone Hill Highway, Hermann, MO 65041.
