When you come into the great city of Branson, you’re likely coming through 76 Country Boulevard, otherwise known as “The Strip.” For years, this corridor has faithfully welcomed millions of visitors per year. But now, it’s in need of a makeover. The New Spirit of 76 is under construction as one of the largest roadway modifications in the country. Here’s why we are excited about the new Spirit of 76, and why you should be, too!

Are you looking for the best things to do in the Branson area? Then, look no further than the “Things to Do in Branson” page provided by Amazing Branson Rentals. It’s full of the best ideas for ways to spend your time during your stay in Branson. We guarantee it!

The New Spirit of 76 Makes a Branson Vacation Easier

The modernization effort to transform “The Strip” is underway, and you ought to be excited! The upgrades planned mean tourists and vacationers have an easier go of it once they’re in Branson. Roughly 7.5 million visitors come to this five-mile stretch annually, and, as a result, 76 Country Boulevard is showing its age. The project aims to sustain growth, preserve the heritage of the area, and pave the way for the future of Branson tourism. What has been an eyesore will become a walkable, bikeable area well-suited for the bounty of visitors each year. The whole goal of the project is to make Branson more accessible and safe. That means more good times and fun for everyone!

Benefitting the Branson Experience

Currently, the corridor in question limits visitors and tourists to a minimal sidewalk next to a busy highway. The goal is to add in 15-foot wide sidewalks to encourage folks to get out and explore. With a promenade-style area in mind, the new Spirit of 76 hopes to encourage healthy living, as well, by creating space for walkers, joggers, cyclists, and more. This initiative will also instill a sense of place, increased social interaction, and improved economy. Everyone stands to benefit, which is why we’re excited for the new Spirit of 76.

Imagine yourself in the pristine Ozark woods enjoying the crisp mountain air when out of nowhere you hear the joyful screams of a coaster. Wait, that’s the Mountain Adventure Park in Branson! Branson’s newest addition to the array of attractions, the new zip coaster will thrill you as you endeavor down it. It’s a guaranteed good time, and there’s plenty more to look forward to as they continue to expand the park. What will be there

Find out more about all of the fun things to do near Amazing Branson Rentals when you check out our Things to Do page. It’s full of the best recommendations for things to see and do like enjoying a day at the Mountain Adventure Park in Branson.

Mountain Adventure Park in Branson is One-of-a-Kind

Within its 80 acres of beautiful Branson forest, the Mountain Adventure Park boasts of something awesome:  It is the only mountain zip coaster in Branson. What makes a mountain coaster different? Well, lots of things! First of all, as you ride the coaster, you have a one-of-a-kind view of the scenic Ozarks that you just can’t find anywhere else. A cool feature in addition to what you’ll be able to see is that in building the zip coaster, Mountain Adventure Park strived to make as little impact on the environment as possible. They did this by using the natural features of the land to accentuate their thrill ride and make it as fun as it is environmentally friendly.

The Branson “Runaway” coaster isn’t the only attraction Mountain Adventure Park seeks to provide.

Plans are in place to expand from the coaster, potentially installing zip lines and a ropes course. Work is underway on “Fritz’s Adventure” and a 225-foot tower named “Big Foot.” This style of amusement park has had great success in Europe, and the owners of the park hope to bring that success here.

Interesting and Important Things to Know about the Coaster

“The Runaway” mountain coaster travels at 30 miles per hour very close to the ground. While that may not seem very fast to some, winding through the woods making tight turns and drops at that speed is a thrilling experience. Add in that the ride sends out single cars of a few people at a time, and you’re out in the woods by yourself. That increases the thrill-factor, for sure. Zig-zagging through 5,000 feet of track, you’ll wind and whip your way through 350 feet of elevation change using gravity as your accelerator. The whole attraction is an ode to the environment around it, and an exciting one at that. How do you get there? Get directions.

Veterans Memorial Museum Pays Tribute

What will you see in this memorial to our nation’s veterans? You will be able to reflect on the exhibits and have your curiosity piqued by the personal experiences of the men and women who served in all branches of the military. See their uniforms, weapons, letters home, medals, motorcycles, and other authentic memorabilia.

The memorial spans 10 great halls. Each one will walk you through the various wars fought including World War I, World War II, the Korean War, Vietnam, Desert Storm, and more. Within each hall, you will find excellent exhibits full of sculptures, murals, artifacts, art, and much more authentic memorabilia commemorating and honoring our nation’s veterans. See the names of the men and women killed in action in World War II, the Korean War, Vietnam, Persian Gulf, and recent conflicts.

History of the Museum

The vision of the Veterans Memorial Museum in Branson came from Fred Hoppe, a Nebraska man. He sought to create a museum that honored the men and women who served our country and to educate future generations of their sacrifice. Mr. Hoppe didn’t stop with just the vision, though. He collected all the artifacts in the museum and wrote over 2,000 scripts for each one.

The museum opened in 2000 after only 10 months of construction. Fred Hoppe took part in designing and participating in the construction. He even milled 70 tons of logs into studs for the museum on his homemade sawmill. This incredible act alone makes the museum worthy of a visit! Lastly, he even created a 70-foot-long bronze sculpture of 50 true-to-size soldiers storming a beach. This incredible feature is set to be displayed on Highway 76 after the City of Branson purchased it in 2016.
