In Branson, we honor veterans year ‘round. We feel that it is very important to honor those who have served so we can be free.
Memorial day kicks off the season in Branson, and these Ozarkians sure know how to throw a shindig. Both Big Cedar and the Chateau on the Lake have HUGE firework celebrations. Silver Dollar City is hosting the Bluegrass and BBQ Festival during that time. For all of you shoppers, almost every store has big sales on that weekend. Visit the Springfield National Cemetery while you’re here. It is only about 30 minutes from Branson, and will definitely be worth your while.
But we don’t just honor our veterans a couple days out of the year here in Branson. Oh no, no, no.
A very good example of this is the Veterans’ Memorial Museum right on the Strip. The exhibits take you from World War 1 all the way through to the present. The museum is very personal, making it unique from others. Instead of just listening to stories about the wars, you learn about the people who fought the wars.

Branson’s Veteran’s Homecoming Week is America’s largest Veteran’s Day celebration! A list of all of those events can be found on the Branson Tourism Center’s Veteran’s Week page. Many, many shows recognize veterans and thank them for their services, Branson-style. To wrap up this week-long celebration, we host one of the biggest veterans day events in the nation: the veteran’s day parade.
We still stand and honor those servicemen and women who have put their life on the line for ours. So, don’t be surprised if while you’re trying to pay for your meal in Branson, someone else already has. For us, it’s a matter of respect. To all of our vets from all of Branson: thank you!
